# Real-Time Math
The Real-Time Math block applies arithmetic to your input signals in real
time. Each channel has a row of nodes, one in each column. Each node takes one
or two channels as its input and applies a function to them: Passthrough,
Add, Subtract, Multiply, Gain or Offset.
Use set_node to configure the nodes, set_output_limit to limit the output voltage, and enable_output to turn the output of a channel on or off.
If you are using the RESTful API directly (e.g. with cURL), the block name in
the URL is rtm.
Multi-Instrument Mode only
The Real-Time Math block can only be used in Multi-Instrument Mode. Refer to the Multi-Instrument Mode Getting Started Guide for more details.

Functions
Core
- Multi-instrument: Real-Time Math block in Multi-Instrument Mode
- enable_output: Enable or disable the output of a given channel
- get_output_limit: Get the output voltage limits of a given channel
- load_settings: Load a previously saved `.mokuconf` settings file into the block. To create a `.mokuconf` file, either use `save_settings` or the desktop app.
- save_settings: Save the block's settings to a file. The file name should have a `.mokuconf` extension to be compatible with other tools.
- set_defaults: Reset the Real-Time Math block to its default state
- set_node: Set the function and inputs of a node in a given channel
- set_output_limit: Set the output voltage limits of a given channel
- summary: Get a short summary of the current block state
